Big Stitch is a style of quilting gaining popularity with today's quilters. Sometimes called "Utility Quilting", Big Stitch uses thicker thread (#8 perle cotton) and a longer, sturdier needle than traditional hand quilting. As its title implies, Big Stitch means larger stitches. The object is to showcase the handmade quality of the needlework.
