Once you know the size, you’ll know how many blocks go across for the width. This number is also how many columns of \u003cu\u003edifferent\u003c\/u\u003e fabrics you’ll need. For example, the Throw has 6 blocks across, so it will need 6 different colors, such as red, blue, purple, yellow, green, and grey.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen, collect your fabrics.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou will need an equal number of light and dark prints within a color.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBe sure there is a clear definition between light and dark or your blocks will turn from a fun design to a solid square.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe recommend using as many different fabrics for variety to keep it scrappy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLeaning on almost-white fabrics for your light will give you lots of contrast in your color columns and an almost airy feeling. For example, see our pictured throw sample with the purple border.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKeeping your lights more solid and slightly darker, makes it a more stout and color-filled quilt.
